The House of Ladosha is a tight-nit family of  young artists in NYC that produce music, performance art and represent a certain aesthetic and personal style that no one can compete with.The lyrics pack a fashion punch- full of distinct imagery and humor that is carried through to there fashion choices and warm hysterical demeanor.

Major players in New York's night life and art culture, this house is on fire and ready for more. Never taking them selves too seriously and always cocked and ready for good time honey, these fashion mavens know there labels and aren't afraid to drop them left and right with a certain charm and boyish appeal that everyone can appreciate. The House of Ladosha brings back old ideals of classic and modern fashion with a twist of humor and street savvy.

Sexifacation of Googoosh.

London fell in love with Twiggy, Paris claimed  Brigitte Bardot, Italy lusted over Sophia Loren and Iran had Googoosh--the girl with the boy's name and booming voice.

With ties to the Pahlavi Dynasty and Yves Saint Laurent himself she brought western traditon, style and grace to Iran's Music culture.

Here the singer wears golden hair and brows, very subversive and forward for the time...

AVANT-GARDE IRANIAN CINEMA.

The film "TEN" is divided into ten scenes, each of which depict a conversation between an unchanging female driver (played by Mania Akbari) and a variety of passengers as she drives around Tehran. Her passengers include her young son (played by Akbari's real life son, Amin Maher), her sister, a bride, a prostitute, and a woman on her way to prayer. One of the major plots during the film is the driver's divorce from her (barely seen) husband, and the conflict that this causes between mother and son.

It portrays a life of a Modern Iranian woman-showing her relationship between all the different players in here life. very inspiring and incredibly minimal in delivery. 

YOU WILL BE HOOKED.

Another must see is the very popular graphic novel turned movie "PERSEPOLIS" by famous author and fellow illustrator Marjane Satrapi.

which also discusses life in Iran pre and post islamic revolution through the eyes of a young woman.

 Belle De Jour herself Ms. Catherine Deneuve. an icon i connect with  my mother, Grace, and severe elegance.

My mother has been a constant inspiration in my life- always a constant reminder of who I am and where i come from. Her beauty and strong will has pushed me to be the person that I am today.
